I am going to Ut - Brownsville. Does it matter to what undergraduate college you go when you apply for a masters or they just look at the GPA?

  1. A lot of people say it doesn't matter.

They are wrong.  It is easier to get into a good graduate school if you went to a highly regarded undergraduate school.  This is especially true of professional schools.

UT-Brownsville is one of the least selective universities in the US.  It has a low graduation rate and is not even rated by US News.  Dental Schools will not look favorably on it.

My advice is to do as well as possible while you are there and try to transfer to UT Austin.
