Question:

Does it matter what Ossetians want?

The news networks have focused a lot of attention on US, Russian, and Georgian interests since the 'crisis' there began, however no news network I've seen has focused any attention on the Ossetians and what they want. Is this fair? Most Ossetians don't truly consider themselves Georgian or Russian, but it is as if none of that matters...

  1. if you would research just a teeny tiny bit you would easilly find that it is not what most ossetians want - since the 90's it has been about what russia wants.  I dare you to google it or even look up parlimenatry minutes of the EU, and georgia. You'll learn alot

  2. Thats an issue you need to take up with Georgia. You are correct, what you want, doesn't matter right now.

You have to look at the bigger picture for a moment

  3. many former soviet republics are ethnically diverse, if they give Ossetia the right to rule themselves it will set a dangerous precedent

  4. Actually, the Ossetians made their wishes known when Georgia gained its independence from the Soviet Union.  That is why there is a North Ossetia, and a South Ossetia.  The North, which was already heavily Russian elected to stay a part of Russia, while the South, which was not infested with Russians yet, went to be a part of Georgia.
