  1. I'd prefer to face them toward the rear, they hit much harder..

  2. the whole is actually a port. Ported boxes have more boom than sealed boxes, but sealed are more accurate. if you have hatchback, then face them up, but if you have an actual trunk in your car, face them towards the trunk, so the bass bounces off of it then towards you. Ihave two sealed 12" fosgates facing the trunk(the trunk has professional dynamat work done), and it sounds wayyy better than it pointing up or towards me.

  3. from personal experience, subs pointed up firing towards the roof in an SUV was louder to a Term-Lab and not as loud to your ears vs. firing towards the tailgate.

  4. Facing the subs a different way will have an effect on the overall sound.  Usually facing the rear of your vehicle has the best results.

Too big of a hole can possibly have some major problems.  It depends really on how big the hole is.  If it is really big you could possibly damage your sub.  Even if it didn't do damage it would greatly hinder the performance of your sub(s).  Otherwise, if it is not really that large,it won't effect the sound too much.  It is always better to have it sealed as well as you can though.  Silicon caulk works really well for sealed up holes but nothing that large.

    Good Luck!!!

  5. depending on the way that you face your subs it will sound different.. if u have to aim them upward and it sounds alright it will be fine.. and about the hole.. where is the hole?. lol
