  3. Today the post office generally scans most mail, so it is important to put the address where the scanner expects to see it.  The outgoing address should be on the front of the envelope, in the lower half top to bottom, and the right half left to right.

Your return address can be in the upper left corner on the front, or on the flap on the back.

  4. your address goes on the top left corner, the address you're sending it to goes in the center, the stamp goes on the top right corner

  5. The address you are sending to must be on the front in the middle. Your address or the return address, it matter where it is.... but there are a few places you can put it. The top left corner obviously the back somewhere. I've also sent things without putting a return address for certain occassions.

  7. Yes it does.  Many post offices use automated readers to sort the mail and they only scan information within a certain window.  Put it recipient's address in the center, and the return address in the upper left hand corner.

The upper right hand corner should be reserved for the stamp.
