Does it matter whether I use a 4 or 8 pin connector to power my CPU? It is a Core 2 Duo E8200. I plan to overclock.

If you have an 8 pin use it. If you don't no need to worry about it. Really dont need 8 pin unless you're using an Extreme cpu that needs a lot of power. An E8200 doesn't.

Yes, a CPU that's high end like that needs the 8 pin connector, especially if you plan to overclock. Overclocking causes your CPU to use more power.
