I think they mention their stance for votes because I really don't think the law is going to get changed anyway that's why I support Obama even though I don't beleive in abortion because the law isn't going to get changed.

  1. I don't think it will matter. We've had a Rep president for 8 years. But I hope that it does bring the abortion issue to the front. If people really knew what abortion is, they might become pro-life.

  2. I see your point, but it makes a great deal of difference to me.

If I may be so bold... I ineherently respect the ideas and opinions of all Americans, but in the transcendent issue of abortion, I deeply believe that millions of Americans are on the wrong side of grievous issue.

I deeply believe that abortion is the taking of a human life (if your mother or mine would have had an abortion 1 day after conception, would either of us be here?).  We are deceived to allow the unborn to be taken, and we have stood on a law that the framers could never have conceived of  that had ended 40 million lives.

It has been used as a method of birth control countlessly, and had faciiltated a mentality that dehumanizes.

It matters to me because it my heart I can't condone or dismiss it in saying "well, there is nothing we can do about it." We should fight tooth and nail, we should change the law and promote a culture of life.

    So, yeah, it matters immensely.

  3. Oh, course it matters. A lot. The next president will probably be in a position to appoint 2-3 supreme court judges. If they appoint ultra-conservative judges Roe vs Wade could get over turned. There are cases working their way up to the supreme court designed to try to do just that. Anyone who thinks the law won't/can't get changed is naive.

Dan: you are characterizing Obama's stand on live birth abortions incorrectly. He only wanted a sentence added to the live birth bill before signing it, he wasn't against it in theory.

  4. It can overturn roe vs wade potentially.

What needs to happen is some sort of in betweener.  Right now a baby BORN can essentially be left to die, not to mention how disgusting an inhumane partial birth abortions are..  Obama backs both these forms of birth control.

  5. Yes. If McCain gets elected, women's right to choose is threatened. That also means men's right to make that decision with their partners is threatened.

  6. Yes it does matter. You're right, I don't think the law will change either but it still matters to many people.
