  1. No that's not crazy

    Good Luck

  2. I would say it matters a little bit at least. Children taking the father's last name has been the method for many years. At least if you change the name, record somewhere the father's REAL last name so that if the child wishes when he grows up he can research his genealogy. Seriously, consider it and take the time to think about it before you do it.

  3. As long as you two are happy and okay with that, then go for it.  Life is crazy and twisted sometimes.  You two need to do whats best for you..

      Good Luck to You Both

  4. Maybe a little. :)  But as long as he's fine with it (and you too) that's all that really matters anyway.  Do what you want!

  5. No, it doesn't sound crazy if he's using him joining your last name as you two uniting set apart from the drama of his family.  The point of joining last name is a public symbol of your unity, so if you guys have privately come together on this decision, then there's nothing wrong with it at all.

  6. Sounds like some serious drama.  Yea I think it is weird for a guy to take his wife's last name.

  7. No it's not. I've heard of other couples doing this. It's not as common as changing the bride's last name, but in this day and age, who cares. He can change his name to yours, but I've also heard of people (both the bride and the groom) who make a new last name out of their old ones. You're starting a new life together, why not have a new last name you share?
