i mean like, oh, poor me, i've got nothing to wear, or, oh, he didn't even look at me, best if i kill myself right away my life's worth nothing without him kind of stuff.

when we ALL know about all the people that get killed in pointless wars, and their families that suffer because of it. millions of children starving to death in africa while someone is crying over the way they look of cause someone said something mean to them.

all the poor, defenceless animals left on the streets to fend for themselves and eventually die of cold and hunger while someone is wasting time being sorry for him/herself cause they don't have the newest ipod.

etc. etc. etc.

do you walk up to those people and tell them to shut the f*** up and get a life or do you feel sorry for them? or just ignore them?

  1. No, I think it's fine if they want to express their feelings about certain issues. The thing that bugs me is when someone wants me to ardently agree with them and not tell them it's not as bad as they say or that there are things we can all do to fix the problems. You don't have to get in people's faces and insist on our own way. Sometimes, little victories will have to do for now. You shouldn't have to join in their crusade even if you agree with them. It doesn't mean you don't care. You just don't want to do things the same way.

  2. I do not let silly people bother me. I don't have the energy to waste on worrying myself about that. If you feel that is the most important thing you can do with your time, then proceed.

  3. I just ignore them. I don't need other people just to have a life of my own anyway... so that's basically ignoring everybody. They call that being in "your own little world".

  4. neither. i make it clear taht i don't care about their petty problems. It depends though. You mostly listed material things (like the ipod). The relationship one is slightly more complex and may be worth listening to so that u can help them realize they have nothing to be sorry for. but yeah, most people are very materialistic.

  5. yeah like the whole world revovles around them..

i feel sorry for them for being what they are.!!

    ppooor them.

  6. yes.  Then say "Congrats!  Realizing there is a problem is the first step -  What are you going to do about it?" That means get a job, or get a life, or get a hobby, or get a backbone.

I am a single mom raised 2 kids for the last 15 years alone with no support, financial or otherwise, and I have 2 kids who graduated HS one in the marines and one in college, a job I like and I own my home (and I'm pretty too!) I like my kids, and I going to learn to ski this year.

It's pretty hard to whine at me cause I've been there and it's a stupid place to be.

  7. I don't tell them to shut up.  I'll listen and offer whatever words I can...tell them to hang in there or whatever.  I'll do that to a point.  If I have to listen to it much I'll tell them nicely as I can that they need to review their outlook.  Life is really about how you look at it.  We all have good and bad.

I know what you mean about it being irritating.  It really is when people are so shallow that they think minor little problems are worth worrying about.  I just think people who do that are stuck in a place of not being able, or not considering taking a look outside of their own little world.  Some of that comes with age and life experience, typically.

  8. yea its like you took the words right out of my mouth

  9. yeah definetly rich people

  10. Ignore

We all have problems..but some have it worse than other's. A person might be sad that they dont' have the newest ipod. Why wouldn't they be? Their expectation to be full filled with the latest technology was declined. Though there is always................ALWAYS a way to solve a problem.

If you don't like it. Tell them " Well, do something about it!" Don't have the latest ipod? Well, start working...no matter what age you are..it's possible- you can sell your stuff on ebay, do odd jobs in the neighborhoodor find a job.
