  1. Yes it costs more.  There is the battery system, inverter, controllers chargers and the ecu to control it all.  As opposed to the good old-fashioned internal combustion engine that has none of that.  Batteries alone are in the thousands for most of the hybrids.

  3. they do cost alot more to make, but there is more of a mark up due to the high demand for them, because fell better about themsleves for buying a hybrid

  4. Yes they do cost more to produce...on top of a regular motor there is an electric motor and a large battery. I forget how much those batteries cost, but i am sure its in the thousands.
