Does it really matter what college you go to in the end (as long as it's not ITT tech or OLe Miss)?

My brother wants to go to an Ivy League school, but my parents want him to stick close to home when we move back to Texas. Is it just hype the difference between a good small and/or state school and an Ivy League school?

  1. individual schools matter but employers take more stock in what level of school, at the top are the ivy league schools, than the major universities, smaller colleges and finally itt tech

an ivy league education really will help him w/ whatever he plans to do after school

  2. Check out the latest information at Business Week concerning earning potential between Ivy Leaguers and state schools.  Yeah, there is a difference no matter the major.

  3. An Ivy League School will give prestige and reputation.

  4. i wouldnt compare itt tech to ole miss haha ITT tech is a joke and yeah theres a pretty big difference

  5. Well, yes and no.

For the most part, employers really just want you to have a degree... but certain schools, or certain programs at different school will make an employer take notice.

  6. .... what's wrong with ole miss?
