Typhoons, Hurricanes, Flooding, Earthquakes, Drought and Famine around the globe.

Or are the disasters just being mentioned more in the media?

  1. The media coverage helps: it's far more efficient than it ever was before.  In the 1970's there was an earthquake that destroyed Tangshan, China and it was way worse than the one they just had.  But we heard very little about it, mostly because China was very much a closed-off nation and no information ever got out.  So that's one.

But it's been a bad tornado season, and there have been lots of floods in the US.  That sort of thing is purely random, though, and randomness means that there will always be clusters of things rather than an even, regular distribution.

  2. It is more from 2004 itself. Our earth was disturbed on 26th Dec 2004 The seismic activities are more from that day onwards. The real reason are not yet perfectly known.

  3. We've got a broken record right here.

  4. It does seem that there are more natural disasters.  The media does report it more( probably a slow news day), but it is a fact that there has been a 50% rise in tornatic storms this year than last year, but dont just base your conclusion on year to year statistics.  Most records that are broken now have been on record for many a year.  Each year is going to be diffrent than the last.  Need more proof?  Pick up the 'Farmers Alminac'.  Its been providing Weather predictions for lots of years.
