  1. Yes, every few years, Scottsdale and Cave Creek will get a light dusting of snow that melts quickly.

Here is a video clip from February with some video of snow in the Valley of the Sun:  http://www.kpho.com/news/15211637/detail...

  2. I've lived in scottsdale for 10 years and it has only snowed once and that was a light dusting that melted before it could gather.

  3. Once every five or so. Flagstaff, AZ is two hours to the north and it has one of the highest rates of annual snowfall in the country.

  4. i wouldn't think so. arizona is basically a giant desert.

  5. it does snow in northern arizona and the northern mountain.  The north rim of the grand canyon is closed in winter and it snows in the flagsaff area every winter but I do not think it snows in scottsdale

  6. nope.

    its the desert.

  7. Yes, I have seen it snow twice in the 12 years I've lived here. However, it's NOTHING like what you see cities like Denver, Chicago, or the east coast get. Basically it starts out as a cold drizzle, then starts to turn into a dusting. It melts very fast, and just turns to water. We do get frost on windshields sometimes overnight, but it disappears as soon as the sun comes up.  What you will sometimes see is snow on the top of the nearby mountains, that might last for an afternoon when it's damp and cold.

  8. go there and live there and find out for me kay?

    NO♥

  9. It has snowed in the northern part of Scottsdale. I have been here for 19 years and it snows at least once every three years or so. It is very little and lasts about an hour or two then it is gone.

  10. Yes, but not routinely.

When Scottsdale does get snow it's not over the entire city and it's not much more than a light dusting, just enough to cover where it falls.  It certainly adds to the number of Kodak moments you see.

And why all the thumbs down to those with yes answers?!

From the replies I've seen the people that answer no either don't watch the weather, don't live in Arizona or they're simply too stubborn to realize that just because it's the desert it can still experience snow.

I believe it has also snowed in Deer Valley Glendale, Fountain Hills, Carefree and I believe Cave Creek too.

  11. Lots of snow or is that blow?

They get a rare flake or two.
