THE RAMBLING WRECK

NEVER WENT TO GEORGIA TECH

As the deadline was now

minutes instead of months,

I hurried through my notes

to find that time I had been funny.

I remember the moment quite well,

there was a pun, a joke and then a riddle.

I’m certain it was funny.

I distinctly remember laughing…

  1. Yesterday was funny and of tomorrow?  Deadlines make brains fry.  Humor restores if you can find!

  2. whats the deadline?

not that i want you to waste more time or nothin...

    :)

    oh ya..

remembering to laugh takes longer than just doing it.

  3. In the midst of these raining deadlines, I too should search the moments to revive laughter. You make me stop and think TD. But thinking is again forcing to dead lines. The poem is a moment of realization.

  4. I like it.  I want to put it up on my refrigerator for further study.  There is something about it that reminds me of something.  I just can't think of what it is, yet.  I like the title too.  I have never heard it or read it like that.  It sort of gives me an uneasy feeling.

  5. Senior moment?  I know I came into this room for something.....

It's good to laugh at ourselves, even when we can't remember what was funny, or where the punch line was.

  6. Fortunately for me, I'm not on deck. I can laugh at the waves from my Summer Kitchen.

  7. It has got to be here somewhere - I even remember the paper it was written on. Was it really funny - or only dead lines? ♥

  8. LOL!  You don't need to search your memory banks for times past funny stuff......you're funny every day......except when you're grouchy......

  9. Performing under pressure isn't always a laughing matter. I didn't manage to laugh all day at work today except chatting to someone in the lift, then all my worst puns spewed out. Repressed puns are the worst kind. She bravely suffered the whole 9 floors. Lift humour is totally under-rated ya know. I do love a captive audience.

My personal technique is to work backwards from "Thank you, thank you very much, you've been a wonderful audience. I'll be here all week, try the Veal" Then the "entrance" just falls into place.

  10. Thank you.
