Just like to know if anyone as ever hit their head while sychronize diving? Are their any measures put in place to protect these divers if they happen to hit their heads? It really seem as if the platform is hard as a rock, so if they ever it their head it might be very serious. I must commend them on their precise precision while doing this dive.

  1. You are right -- that platform is made on concrete. Yes, people have hit their heads. Yes, people have died. Yes, people have died during competition. It doesn't happen often, but it has happened.

The incident I recall was in the mid-80's. A diver did a reverse dive (face forward, but rotate backwards toward the platform) that he wasn't fully prepared to do. The photo published in the newspaper was pretty gruesome.
