My symptoms are that my ears hurt and my ears feel like they are draining into the back of my throat and my throat is itchy. The worst symptom though is that I'm having extremely bad headaches like migraines. I'm also very sleepy and my speech is a little slurred. I don't have a temp. and that's why I haven't rushed to the ER. I am on antibiotics for folllucitis (a skin infection). It is allergy season and I have had some allergy problems in the past. I'm also verey irritable. The antibiotic that I'm taking is Cephalexin (for my skin). I've been taking Benedryl but it's not helping. I'm a 35 year old woman with no serious health problems except that I do have frequent skin infections some of which are MRSA. THANKS.

  1. You probably need to go to the doctor. If you don't, it could get worse. I was having headaches like that, (oh my gosh they hurt) and my nose was stuffy so I went to the doctor and I was positive for strep. I never would have thought that's what it was because my throat never hurt and I didn't have fever, so yeah whatever it is it could get worse, might as well go to the doctor and get medicine for it.

  2. If you have a sinus infection there will be color in the mucus that comes out.  Usually with an ear infection you will notice a bit of hearing loss. If you have either of these symptoms then by all means make an appointment with your doctor.

  3. If you are on an antibiotic, it can help mask the other infection by reducing your fever but not killing the bug affecting your head.  Go see the doctor about this- it'll only get worse.
