Does it surprise anyone else?

That Patrick Roy has had some success as a head coach at the major junior level? Aside from his and his sons antics this year. I thought of him as too much of a head case to be able to lead that age group. I also wonder how it will translate to the next level.

  1. nope. hahaha. naw he's doing a good job. at first i was really skeptical, but i thought if he went to some counselling before he had the job that if he learned to channel his emotions he'd be a good coach.

he coaches a good ramparts team, and has a really good system. all the kids that play for him play well. he doesn't put up with mediocrity, and if he has a player who's not as good as another he doesn't make them fele less apart of the team.

i also lost some sleep thinking he'd go balistic coaching this team, but aside from that incident with his son, and his ego he's done far more than i expected.

yeah he wants to coach both his sons, which is a good thing for him as a parent. on the next level, i think if he decides to he can pull it off...i just think he still needs a little bit of counseling.

  2. no suprise what so ever

  3. Actually I heard something about Roy.  He was asked if he would coach the avalanche but he declined.  he wants to wait until his son is finished with junior hockey before he would even entertain the idea.  He hasn't ruled it out though at some later point.  I saw it on espnnews if anyone else wants to see it if they haven't.

  4. for sho
