Does it take more gas to go to a store and come back or shop online and the delivery person sends it?

I think in the overall process, having it sent would use less; as you've pointed out, the delivery truck would have other people's goods as well.

Of course, it would depend on how far away the store is from your home.

yer online stuff mae kum from Kalifornya or Kanada...1000's av miles.

& it mite take 2 weeks

A delivery service will be on a route and basically would make one big trip to service many customers.  Customers on their own make many small trips that would take more time and more gas to complete.
