Does it take up internet downloads when i upload pictures?

I have broadband and we have limited downloads and a limit and im not sure if i can upload pictures without taking up my download limit?

  1. Upload will not count towards download limit. But you may have a separate limit on upload also.

    Call customer support of your internet provider for details.

  3. As far as limits, uploads shouldn't affect your download limit, but you will notice a decrease in performance of the connection when trying to do both at once, since two signals going in opposite directions will be sharing parts of some of the hardware.

    If you are in a home or business setting and an ISP is setting these limits, these details should be worked out very carefully and should follow what I've outlined here fairly strictly. If, on the other hand, you are in a college dormitory, they could use any number of ridiculous methods for evaluating what you are doing at any given time, so be much more careful in that situation.

    Beware, though, that this is based on how the hardware works. ISPs occasionally do things similar to a credit card or cell phone company in that they add uploads to the downloads and then still bill you for separate uploads. If this is the case, call and complain about their billing strategies.

    So the simple answer is no. Uploads and downloads are unrelated.
