  1. Nah, they don't really care if you change ram or even a hard drive. Warranties are void only if you start taking apart everything else, such as the CPU and displays and such.

    But know that the new ram is not covered by Dell's warranty. If it breaks, contact the ram company.  


  2. Yes, it does void your warranty. Usually when you open a computer case, there is a sticker on the case. And this sticker tells the manufacturer's whether you have opened the computer. Either by showing a rip in the paper, or by having a piece come off of the main part of the sticker. Either way, it is impossible to fix this sticker, or to buy another one that is not already voided.

  4. No. Not all. I have taken calls from customers who come for upgrading RAM and there are also people who upgrade memory on their own but would call just for getting assistance in installing the new RAM. We assist both these issues.

    Its advisable that you buy memory from Dell. They have a lifetime warranty. Check out the link below!
