  1. Well, by saying bone, i think you mean gelatin.  And yes, since gelatin is derived from boiling bones, jello does have it.  And no skittles does not contain an animal gelatin, that ones contains a vegan gelatin.

  2. yes jello is made of animal collagen from skin and bones

  3. They do not contain actual bone. However, they do contain gelatin which is derived from bone marrow, sinew, and other parts of animals, most often pigs.

  4. jello has stuff from animals in it like bone, its used to make gelatin and im pretty sure any gummy candy like gummy bears/worms..not skittles though

  5. A McDonalds cheeseburger has more chance of having bone in it than jello.. Skittles, I don't think so either.  Don't go cooking yourself now; you just might find the source.

  6. well gelatin is the collagen within animals' connective tissue...mainly skins, hides, and bones. For instance, if you ever made homemade gravy from a roast or chicken, you will find after you refrigerate the gravy it is gelatinous. That is because the tissues within the animal the gravy is made from break down, and the collagen is dissolved into the water that naturally is given off. When cooled, it becomes gelatin.

So Jell-O possibly does contain animal...skittles? I would have to assume not because they are more of a taffy-esque consistency, which is acquired by heating sugar to a certain heat.

I hope that this rambling answered your question and informed you slightly!

  7. Yup, bone and connective tissue from pigs and horses.

  8. The dictionary defines Gelatin: Gelatin (also gelatine, from French gélatine) is a translucent, colourless, brittle, nearly tasteless solid substance, extracted from the collagen inside animals' connective tissue. It has been commonly used as a gelling agent in food, pharmaceutical, photography, and cosmetic manufacturing. Substances containing gelatin or functioning in a similar way are called gelatinous. Gelatin is an irreversibly hydrolyzed form of collagen. Gelatin is classified as a foodstuff and has no E number.

However, there are other food type gelatins not derived from animals like agar agar, carragen, guar gum and arrow root these are routinely used to replace the animal by product in vegetarian, vegan and Kosher foods.

So to answer your original question although there is no "bone" there is a substance that is derived from bone that could be.

    Good Luck!

  9. The gelatin you eat in Jell-O comes from the collagen in cow or pig bones, hooves, and connective tissues. To make gelatin, manufacturers grind up these various parts and pre-treat them with either a strong acid or a strong base to break down cellular structures and release proteins like collagen. After pre-treatment, the resulting mixture is boiled. During this process, the large collagen protein ends up being partially broken down, and the resulting product is called gelatin.

    and...

    Skittles, nope...

  10. no unless your in imaginationland.
