I want to join WWF Philippines and Haribon (I live in the Philippines), but I am not sure if could really make a difference to the environment... they have fees and somewhat expensive for a student like me..

I really want to join, but I am not sure if the money I will be joining in is worth it. well, that's what I think - although I could be enlightened about where does the money really go.

thanks a lot in advance :)

  1. I was a part of the US WWF, I believe in their cause and the money you give them go towards grants, conservation efforts etc. Most companies will not mind sending you a breakdown of where the money goes, however you have to ask for it.

My suggestion to you is to ask for a breakdown of the financial donations. Another suggestion is not to join unless you are sure this is what you want to do, can do and have enough money to do.

  2. take care of your environment. pick your friends to help your world.  picking up garbage and dead material in the yard. Nobody wants to see garbage in the front lawn or anywhere visibile. If this does not keep you busy to do community service. I will think of a back up plan.

  3. It does make a difference, but there's no point beggaring yourself. Sometimes organizations have student member rates just for folks like you. If not, surely the Philippines has local or national groups that have lower fees.  You can clean up your own place, do large scale clean-up or re-planting with groups like WWF even if you don't belong.
