Does jury duty suck?

people tell me that jury duty is so boring. but when they describe it, it sound cool!

If you don't like doing your civic duty and helping to assure that a fellow citizen gets a fair trial, you could describe it as sucking.

I wouldn't say it was 'cool,' exactly, it does have a certain degree of boredom, and it takes you away from your normal responsibilities, possibly for quite a while, but on balance, I'd say it's a good experience.

its pretty bad. You have to go into a room and decide for a long time. Everyone has to agree to do anything.

It is what you make it.  While waiting to be called for a case, read a book or converse with the people sitting near you.

When you are chosen for a case, yes sometimes it is monotonous, especially when the testimony is technical.  But you have to pay attention so you can come to an informed decision.

No, I didn't mind it at all. Also, jury duty in Federal Court is much better than jury duty in state courts.
