  3. Ah, benzodiazepines. They've been around longer than almost everything else out on the market in the treatment of anxiety. To break it down, Klonopin (clonazepam)  will seem to come on stronger at first and give you great results for treating acute anxiety. Its downfall is that it is metabolized rather quickly and you lose the effect after about 2-3 hours, depending on dosage. Valium (diazepam) on the other hand, may not come on as strong at first but will give you longer acting results lasting about 5-6 hours. In my opinion, Valium will give you the best results across the board. Keep in mind that different people handle  pharmaceuticals differently depending on many factors such as food consumption, metabolism, and body weight just to name a few.
