Does krav mega have belts? and......?

The krav mega have white belts and black belts?

How long does it take to become skilled in krav mega?

What is krav mega good for? I read somewhere it is for killing people in hand to hand combat? =/

No belts ... but to do the instructors course you must have a black belt from a traditional martial art.  It has different uses depending on where you are coming from - military/ police go into troubled areas - civilians want to be able to survive an assault or robbery.  Its good for fitness too

No, we have levels and there are symbolic belts awarded with passing a level, but in class people wear sweats and a t-shirt, no belts.

Krav Maga as taught in the USA is about self defense, and is less lethal than the system I was trained in back in Netanya, IL.  The American system awards a symbolic belt with each of the eight levels.  In the Israeli version we are more concerned with survival than belts.

Belts were a sort of fiction for the American body, because we all know how much Americans like belts.  Truthfully, unless used as a weapon, a belt is pretty useless, so we have levels.  Tests are very long and arduous, I have seen people break bones during tests, pass out from heat exhaustion, etc.

Krav Maga is physically more demanding than most arts, and we do emphasize real PT prior to a workout.
