Does kwicksave still exist!! lived abroad for a few years, just wanna know if its still about!?

might sound strange but i dreamt a was walking round kwicksave in Crewe where i used to live! no frills!!

Kwik Save went into administration in July this year.  Most of its stores were closed down, although 56 were sold to a company called Fresh Xpress and will be rebranded as such.

Prior to this many Kwik Save stored had been rebranded as Somerfield (who owned the company from 1998 to 2006) or sold to other retailers.

Well, Somerfield owned Kwik Save for a while. They converted a lot of stores into Somerfields and then sold the ones they didn't want early last year.

The new owners didn't do so well - earlier this year they shut a load of the stores to try and keep going.  Then the company finally went bankrupt this July.

Some of the stores are being turned into something called "FreshXpress".

So, basically, they've closed down - but only just!
