Does lake(or resevoir) water ruin your swimsuit?

i have a white swimsuit, and in hottubs they turn all gross, so does lake water ruin ur swim suit?

I live on a lake and the water doesn't ruin my swimsuits. I guess it could, just depending on the material of the swim suit, other than that, No.

my family goes to lakes all the time in the summer, my bathing suits never get ruined. Maybe it's just the fabric that is causing it to do that in hot tubs. I'd get a new bathing suit, maybe one that isn't white!

Less than a pool would because of the chlorine in the pool. But it really does depend on the pH of the lake, and other chemicals in the water. For the most part I would say no, it does not ruin swim suits.

If you have experience this then you may want to change the place that you get your swimsuits...

A white swim suit probably just reveals all the chemicals that are put into a hottub to keep it clean. Try a darker colour of swimsuit.
