When you have a lead exposure, what happens?

Does the lead forever embed itself in your organs, or does it go out in your urine, excretions, sweat, saliva, etc? And what is its half life in the human body?

  1. I do not believe it has a half life, such as drugs in the body or as do radioactive materials. It generally accumulates, but there are chelation therapies specifically designed to remove it from the body. Most of the harm from lead, though, I believe is more or less permanent once it has done its dirty deeds.
