For the most part I believe it does. To get respect, first you must give respect. And that's how I live. LOL

Life isn't always fair and neither are many rude people. People are able to make you feel good about yourself or feel badly about yourself. Life, in general, can be unkind but people are usually the ones that bring forth the lack of respect. I guess they weren't taught respect yet. Life throws you curves but you can catch them!

You were given life and its up to you to make it what you want out of it! Its simple, treat people like c**p and you'll get what you dish out! Sometimes you get c**p when you give sugar but if you over look the bad and keep with the good then you'll be stronger and happier afterward. Oh and by the way you must have law to live by because without it, its life without boundaries and that's what we have been going to in today's age and people have been getting hurt because of it! So the answer is life treats you with what you treat it with!

Yes, but the people in it don't.

Refusing to acknowledge or accept a person for who they are is not respectful - infact, it's the opposite.

edit: For mr. know-it-all - Okay, and what if you're willing to die for your world and the people in it - what if you're prepared to make the 'ultimate' sacrifice regardless of whether people respect you or not?

What if you give something, but as a present, one where you do not expect anything back?

Life is a reflection of ones self; If you are not getting any respect, you are likely not giving any respect.

I'm so happy the universe is set up that way... It is entirely fair.
