Hi, I just got a brand spanking new Callaway Hyper X 9.5 Tour Driver. I took it out to range and after a couple of awesome hits, I noticed that there were few fine scratches on the face of the club due to some sand from the range ball...arrrrrr!! Now will that effect the performance of the driver - such as ball flights and distance?

  1. No all drivers get scratched up after you use it for a while.

  2. No - it was bound to get scratched up a little eventually anyway.

  3. no it will not effect play at all , if you are wooried about the scratches . purches at a auto supply house a product called autosol . it is a metal cleaner ,scratch removal polish . it will remove the scratches . if used on your irons , will restore to like new condition . best part easy on easy off . great product . thank you

  4. No, but yes after a long period of time. With 50+ rounds a year and average range work it may take 3-5 years to see any difference.

MAKE SURE YOUR RANGE BALLS ARE NOT COVERED IN SAND BEFORE YOU HIT YOU DRIVER. Sand between the ball and club face can cause nasty marks on you driver!!!!

  5. No your good. If they were huge scratches like the grooves on your irons that would be a different story. But no it won't affect any performance.
