  1. Yes

  2. well this is a bit confusing but let me make it simple :

    the answer is yes

the charged clouds above let out a stream of electrons to the ground(mother stroke)which is invisible  and the ground in response sends the child stroke above which is again invisible but  these streams of charged particles meet in air after a nanosecond delay and  the streams  become a circuit and electricity travels so we can say that lightning travels from the ground  cause the main charged stream travels from the ground.. Hope this is understandable .

  3. I think No.

Lightning happens from the Clouds and it passes from Space to the Ground.

  4. Lightning, as best we understand, is a channel of negative charge, called a stepped leader that zigzags downward in roughly 50-yard segments in a forked pattern.and this negative charge is in the clouds and reaches towards the ground. So basically, lighting travels from the sky downward, however, the visible portion (What we define as lighting) travels from the ground upward.

  5. yes ..This is just 1 of the type of lightening that travels from the ground up called as Ground-to-cloud lightning..Ground-to-cloud lightning is a lightning discharge between the ground and a cumulonimbus cloud from an upward-moving leader stroke.there are many more types of them.

  6. Lightning really happens in the sky.It originates from sea,I mean deep sea.
