im getting an ipod and i now i have to have i tunes is there any ways to get songs in stead of paying for them on i tunes???????????????

Get AVG Free Anti-Virus and learn how to distinguish between a virus and a song. Most songs are between 3MB and 10 MB, depending on length. Viruses are generally very small compared to anything else.

In the case you do download a virus, the proper anti-virus software will take care of it for you.

Don't feel forced to use iTunes, stick with LimeWire, or learn how to use BitTorrent to download complete albums for free. The music industry needs to learn that personal, private use of songs should be free.

Limewire doesn't make the spyware, trojans or viruses people download - people who use limewire make those. There is a trick to not downloading them though I picked this up after downloading a virus a few years ago when you search a song you'll likely have hundreds of results usually the viruses are the ones with the smaller file size. Also if you plan on using Limewire make sure you have an anti virus program installed and fully updated, and scan every download before opening it (usually all you have to do is right click on it and if you have an anti virus program you should see scan, just right click and click on scan).

I can assure you, Limewire does not make viruses or has viruses.

When somebody says different, the are wrong.

You can get infected with a virus by using limewire the wrong way.

I mean, when you download the wrong kind of files, you definitely will get a virus. When you know  what files you can download or not, limewire is a great program for downloading music or movies.

There are a lot of fake files in p2p programs. Files pretend to be a song or movie, but are in fact a virus.

When you do a search for a song, you always see a lot of those small files. Those small files are much too small to be a song or movie and therefore it is very likely that those small files are fake files

You should start downloading files larger than 2500/3000kb

NOthing is completely safe, therefore make sure your anti virus is up to date. Just in case

lime wire doesn't make viruses, the uploading of the songs does. any song with a decimal point in the number contians a virus so don't click it. also be cautious of titles with all CAPS or exclamation points.

Yes, Limewire does contain a lot of spyware/virus, but that doesn't mean it's not usable. I use it, but it's because I know how to avoid virus. I suggest you find something different unless you know how to avoid viruses.
