Ok well I have a 3yr old daughter but I still have the wobbly bits to go with her. I want a flatter tummy and smaller thighs. and loose around 2 stone in weight.

Only thing being is when i lay down my tummy flattens but my ribs stick out. Will that change if i loose weight?

As i loose weight will my ribs move in?

  1. If you lose weight the wrong way then you will have pointy ribs, the wrong way is to lose weight quickly meaning you lose a lot of muscle mass.

If you exercise a lot and eat plenty of meat and fish or anything with protein then you will have a thin lair of fat covering your ribs while the rest of your body is toned up.

It will take a long time to lose 2 stone the right way though so you better be prepared to stick to it.

  2. you will lose fat which will make it appear as if your body has changed shape. your bones will not move.

  3. no

  4. Lying down, your belly flattens because your internal organs are falling towards your back. When you are standing, they are falling outwards, making the muscles that surround them bulge outwards.

If you try to lose weight by dieting, these muscles weill get even weaker, so that you 'spread' even more. Your ribs will also become more visible, as the muscles covering them start to weaken and wither.

To improve your body shape, you need to strengthen the muscles around your waist. When these get tighter, they will 'squeeze' your internal organs harder, so that they move around less when you change position. This will make your waist smaller and your belly flatter while you're standing up. When you lie down, your ribs and abdomen will remain better aligned, making your ribcage seems less prominent.

(The extra compression is good for your back, spine, and breathing, too.)

While you were pregnant, your posture may have changed. These changes can make it harder to use your 'core' muscles properly after you have given birth.

A Pilates class will teach you how to 'curl' your pelvis, and re-activate your abdominal muscles. You will also learn how to streamline your thighs, and other parts of your body.

  5. If i understand your question correctly, then no. Your bone structure stays as it is. That's why there are big built people who are not fat just have a big / wide bone structure.

Look at some Chinese (or Japanese) and African women, the Chinese wear funny shooes from a young age to make thier toes/toe bones to bend in giving smaller feet. African woman where them neck things which i believe lenghen's their necks.

But if you were smaller framed before your baby was born, then yes i think it would but i have not got a child so don't know

  6. No your frame doesn't change. Your bone structe stays the same no matter what, it's the skin around the outside that's making them stick out. Maybe once you've got all the weight off and have tones up a bit more, you know, got a bit of muscle and stuff? it might have evened out so you can't see your ribs as much :)
