  1. Avery old remedy is said to be cabbage leaves, they act like a poultice, sounds strange but it does work.

  2. As the other person said, arthritis comes from inside, it's an inflammation in your joint and can occur anywhere in the body.  Having said that, heat or ice applied to the outside may cause some temporary relief.

There are supplements that can help.  Specifically:

    Glucosamine Chondroitin (1200 2x daily)

    MSM

    VItamin C (500 daily)

    Vitamin E (400 2 x dily)

Omega 3-6-9 or a fish oil supplement (1200 2x daily)

THere are manufacturers that mix these so you don't have to buy them separately; I would however buy the Omega or fish oil separatley as it is hard to get the amount you need in a mixed supplement.

I know these really do make a difference as I have seen the difference in people, dogs and horses!!

  3. I would just try applying heat

  4. I haven't heard of that one but I have heard by a Dr on a TV morning programme that heating a cabbage leaf (eg by ironing it) & wrapping it around the joints it is helpful.

Have you also tried MSM tablets & creams?

(please see link & also type in arthritis in search & look through results for more related artilres)

  5. No. Arthritis is caused by inflammation of the joint and wrapping something around the knee will not help it. You really need some sort of anti-inflammatory and analgesic medication. Of course there is no explanation for the placebo effect and you may find some relief - it won't harm you anyway.
