There has been no study about THC causing cancer but all the other c**p in the plant has a much higher rate of known carcinogens than tobacco.  So if you are worried about cancer, look at this pragmatically.  If you smoke so much that you get cancer, you will probably die of stupidity (thing you do while high) before cancer strikes.

  4. No. Absolutely not. Research shows that even chronic marijuana users are at no higher risk for cancer or emphysema than non-smokers.

  7. Well yes BUT if used long term, and by that i mean like 15-20 years of chronic smoking. Various carcinomas of the lung can occur. The main causes of lung cancer (and cancer in general) include carcinogens (such as those in tobacco smoke), ionizing radiation, and viral infection. This exposure causes cumulative changes to the DNA in the tissue lining the bronchi of the lungs (the bronchial epithelium). As more tissue becomes damaged, eventually a cancer develops.

    Youre at a lesser risk for development when smoking pot because you only take a few hits of it, opposed to cigarettes where you take in more and its 10x more addicting, which makes you at a greater risk for cancer.
