I have well over 100 Barbie Dolls along with all the clothes, shoes and so on. I love them. I don't play with them but I have them and could if I wanted to. Is that weird? Is it weird that I kind of want to play with them? Like I said I am 20 but I still act like a little kid sometimes. I have not played with them in years. Many many years. For some reason I want to take them out of their boxes. I don't know. I hope that does not make me a freak. I'm not weird. Well I don't think I am. I'm normal most of the time. haha.

  1. I have in the house now over a hundred as well as other toy collections.  Being a publisjed poet and a member of the International Society of Poets, I can without a doubt concur that you are in deed not weird.  I enjoy toys because they provide that stimulus condusive of fun.  Toys are fantasy which is a break from the every day demands of reality   It is just like reading novels; watching fictional tv programs; or go to see fictional movies.  We love to be entertained by fantasy.  Barbies is not for everyone.  It is for all of us which do find pleasure in them from childhood into adulthood.  I never cared for automobiles from before 1969 as real or toys until an adult.  When I started seeing the toy replicas  from my brother's view, my eyes were opened to the beauty which  had been unseen before me.  I recognized that they were fun to collect as well as the new models. Collectors love to display their toys both in and out of their boxes.  Having duplicates allows for the joy of them in the hands and in the box.  You can compare how the doll feels through the senses of touch and smell with  its appearance inside the sealed box.

  2. Are you crazy? I'm - - -well let's not go there, but I'm way older then you are and so is my sister. She collects Barbies some worth hundreds of dollars and I thought she was weird for wanting to keep the ones we played with but since changed my mind. I make dolls, barbie sized ones. I make them out of wood, hand carved with little wigs .Their little arms and legs move ,hands move, heads move and feet move. I make them for the people I loved and have died, just so I won't feel so lonely. Now I think that is weird, but someone caught a look at them and now I make them for sale. I make life-like ones also. As big as a real person. They are a good deterrent for buglers and a certain peeping tom that lurks around the neighborhood. Now others want to buy those! As for you collecting Barbie Dolls, you are not wrong with that. Every one is weird in their own way.Everyone! Your collection will be worth many, many dollars someday! Now,do you think I am weird? If so, good! Byee

  3. Don't take them out of their boxes! The box is half the value!! Speaking as a doll collector myself, and being 23, there is nothing wrong with wanting to hold onto your toys. My fondest memories as a child were playing Barbies and My Little Pony. Now I collect them. Embrace your love of your childhood toys and hold onto your memories!

  4. You know what could bring world peace? People enjoying toys! Too many people are thinking in the lines. Trying to be like everyone else. Stop, relax and enjoy a Barbie. I collect all kinds of toys. My kids collect anime. I have people day and night calling me about toys all the time. I love them and I'm a tad older than you, so age really isn't important. Being free minded is. Enjoy and never stop collecting.

Oh and take them out of the boxes and enjoy them. Everyone else keeps theirs in a box. What fun is that? You can do so much after you remove them.
