  5. Diet coke and mentos.

  6. when i saw it on tv it worked but i tried it at home and it didn't work so i really dont know

  7. I think Mentos, along with just about any diet beverage, will do the trick.

  8. correction.. diet coke.

  9. Heck Yeah! You Can Almost make `Daytime Fireworks`As My Friends Call Them! Try It Someday! Make Sure You Do It Outside And You Have Goggles! You Can Use It As A Gun! But Don`t Be Too Close Too Anything Unless You Want It To Be Hurt! (It`s Like A Weapon)

  10. yes it does- it also makes a mess :D

if you want to try do it outside

take a test tube, put the mentos in it, put a plastic board (see through) over top a large coke bottle and turn the test tube full of mentos upside down, line it up with the coke opening and pull the board away, then run and watch!!

  11. The sugar in the mentos dissolves into the water in the coke, causing rapid release of carbon dioxide that was dissolved before the sugar got there. It does not explode, since the container is made to withstand the pressure without exploding.

  12. Look up mentos and diet pepsi on youtube...  It's neat.

  13. yes

  14. Yeah its so fun making rockets

  15. Yes.

Basically, you are witnessing the Surface Effect.  Carbon Dioxide forms bubbles.  Diet Coke has more carbon dioxide than other regular sodas.  The surface of the "mento" is jagged and filled with nooks and crannies.  The Carbon Dioxide finds all of these holes and fills them with bubbles.  Since the Mentos are heavy, they drop to the bottom of the bottle, forming bubbles all the way down.  This is what causes the fast and furious explosion out of the top of the Diet Coke bottle.

  16. explode is a bad word to use, more like completely fizz up and if it restricted through a small area like a bottle neck, it will have enough force to shoot into the air

  17. Its mentos and diet pepsi.
