Does the military pay for preschool/childcare. My son is 4 and around my area they only have 3 hour preschools for like 2-3 days a week only Someone told me that military can help me pay for some preschool/childcare. The school I would put him in was tutor time which will be $800/month

  1. yes the military provides childcare for children of military members for free and the school on base are some of the best schools in the country.

  2. No the military will not pay your daycare bill.  If you live near a miltiary base your childcare/preschool payments are based on what you make a month(yes both incomes are included).  They do offer certains days of free child care for spouses to attend Family Readiness Group meetings as well as so many hours of free daycare for children of deployed soldiers.  Check w/ your post Child Developement center for more details.  Keep in mind the Military is not a welfare system.

They are not required to just give you things for free.

Edit:  Rani S.  If that was the case then most Military wives would have jobs shortly after maternity leave ended.  Rather than making all kinds of sacrifices to stay home w/ their children.  I stayed home for 6 yrs because we couldn't afford daycare.  Trust if Uncle Sam was footing the bill I would have definately worked at least part time.
