Does modern American politics owe more of its character to Jacksonian vs Jeffersonian democracy? Or has it become something that would be unrecognizable to either?

  1. Good question!  Modern American politics are closer to Jacksonian democracy in my opinion.  Modern Americans seem to want the government to solve their problems.  They also want their government to be responsive to popular will.  Much closer to Jackson than Jefferson.  Personally I think Jefferson would be disgusted with the current state of affairs.
