  1. mostly it does but there are other factors

  2. It means more power which allow for greater speed and acceleration.

  3. Folks, it does not mean it will have more horsepower!!

Consider this - the average high-end 600cc sport bike has around 110 or so hp. 1000 cc high-end sport bike 180 hp.

Cruiser bike with much larger displacement -

    Suzuki 800cc models - around 50 hp.

Honda Shadow 600 cc - around 35 hp.

Honda Shadow 750 cc - around 45 hp.

    Yamaha Warrior 1700 cc - 70-80 hp?

Honda VTX 1300 cc - 65 hp or so.

Suzuki M109R 1800 cc - 123 hp and king of the hill.

My old Harley 1340 cc (1995) had about 50-55 hp.

There are other factors that come into play. For example, a high horsepower 600 has to rev much higher rpm's to achieve this horse power (16,000 ++ rpm's). More displacement usually means more torque at lower rpm's.

  4. CC of the bike [ almost ] has no bearing on how fast the bike goes.

e.g Suzuki make a big crusier with a 1800cc (1.8 litre) engine. But a 125cc sports bike will beat it on most factors, top speed, corners, braking ......

Also the rules have been broken this year in the racing world, when Lorenzo lapped a 250 race machine faster then Valentino Rossi lapped a 500cc machine only 6 years ago.

CC's are just the engine size. They dont matter all that much to the bikes performance. Hence the new 800cc Motogp bikes are [ at most tracks ] quicker then the 990cc Motogp bikes !

  5. more times than not more cc's means both more speed, and hsp..

  6. no

the horsepower is what makes it faster

  7. yes

  8. CC means cubic centimeters. It is a measure of the total volume of fuel/air mixture that engine is capable of drawing into all cylinders during one operating cycle.

Sometimes you will see it measured in cubic inches or liters.

Generally speaking, the more air and fuel an engine takes in during a cycle, the more horsepower the engine will produce.

  9. It means it will have more horsepower.

Speed increase will also depend on how much the bike weighs.

  10. MORE POWER

  11. cc's cubic centimetres which is the measure of volume aka engine size, which translates as bigger engine/ more power or torque.

  12. cc's stands for cubic centimeters, in engines it's giving the volume of the combustion chamber.  the higher the cc's, the longer the engine will run without getting hotter and burning oil.  it really affects the longevity (assuming it's always maintained properly,) but it won't really affect performance.

  13. it's the motorcyles label in power.. cc is how they measure hoursepower (but they're not the same amount) cubic centameters or something
