  1. I agree that moth balls won't work and can harm your cat. Use a good flea product recommended by your vet on the cat. For the floors and carpets, try borax. Most house cleaners swear by it.

  2. No, just moths. Hence the name.

  3. The fumes from mothballs are harmful to you and your cat.  They will not control fleas at all.

  4. No...use Advantage topical flea preventative on your cat (never use the Hartz over the counter stuff...it's really dangerous and unregulated). You may want to take him to the vet for a flea dip while you bomb the house. You need to remove all people and animals from the home before you set off the flea bombs!

  5. I don't know about fleas but I know cats absolutely hate mothballs, if you have a cat you can make it sick if they have to be near that smell.

  6. Not that I know of, but if you have fleas in your house, one way to get rid of them is to buy regular table salt (the cheap stuff is fine - doesnt have to be a brand name) and cover your rugs, furniture, etc with a thin layer of salt, then cover your chairs with sheets (so you dont get salt all over yourself when you sit) and keep the salt there for 24* ... then vaccuum away! VIOLA! - no more fleas!

The salt burns the fleas and their eggs, its cheap to buy, easy to use and easy to vaccuum up - and no gross chemicals!

Oh - BTW - you also have to treat your animals (ie - flea bath, flea medication, etc..) and dont let them l**k the salt!

We have used this salt method and it really does work!

    Good Luck! Fleas are horrible!!
