  1. Mt Dew has more caffeine in it than most other soft drinks do.

(not counting all the energy drinks out there now)

Both the regular & Diet Mt Dew have 55 milligrams of caffeine per 12ozs.

If you drink enough caffeine you will get energy or a "buzz"...similar to drinking  coffee.

*Note: a 12 oz can of Diet Mt Dew has 0 calories & 0 sugar-

it uses artificial sweetener...aspartame in the US.

(which is a controversial topic I'll avoid giving my opinion on!)

  2. Yes.

All sodas give you some energy. Mt. Dew has more caffeine than regular sodas. People used it for energy for years before the Energy Drinks hit the US.

In sodas and energy drinks the sugar is the quick burst of energy and the caffeine, and other stimulants in energy drinks, give you the longer term energy. The problem is that you get the sugar rush quickly and caffeine dehydrates. If you don't offset the dehydrating effect of caffeine with extra water then you feel the sugar crash pretty intensly. This is because when we are dehydrated we become tired. If you drink extra water with soda or energy drinks the sugar rush is hardly noticable as the caffeine would have taken over when it hits.

  3. Kinda. It does have caffeine in it, but it's the sugar in the soda that will give you that temporary energy rush. But once it wears off, you're pretty much back to square one.

  4. No!

  5. no

    it makes you fat

    trust me

well if you dont burn it it will make you fat

it is one of the few carbonated drinks that has high calories

  6. Well from a biological standpoint regular Mountain Dew gives you energy because it contains calories (which is the fuel that provides energy for your body).  Keep in mind though that if you take in more calories than you expend in a single day, it will cause you to gain weight.

As for the other, Mountain Dew contains a copious amount of both sugar and caffeine which have both been shown to temporarily boost energy levels in people who are susceptible to these ingredients.

    Hope this answers your question.
