  1. boxing, and kickboxing uses only the fist and legs but muay thai uses the knees and elbows. Thats y muay thai is also known as '' the science of 8 limbs''. muay thai consists of submission holds, throwing, breaking, smashing, and grappling. there are no bobbing and weaving.

  2. Every combat sport is a product of its rules.  If you watch MMA fighters on the ground pulling jujitsu guard, consider how useful that would be if shots to the groin were allowed.

Muay thai - traditionally - did not focus on the hands nearly to the extent boxing did.  From range, it uses kicks, in close it uses elbows and knees.  Punches are used of course, but they are often superceded by a different attack.  Bobbing is less useful when you have to worry about knees.  Weaving is still highly useful, and something most fighters would do well to pick up from boxing.

Interesting point - pure boxing is not fantastic under muay thai rules, but under 'no rules' its quite useful again.  Muay thai's reliance on kicking leaves it very vulnerable to grappling.  Its the rules AGAINST tackling opponents that allow MT fighters to just tee off with kicks.

  3. not as much as boxing for the bobbing and weaving part, Muay Thai allow kick, bobbing and weaving won't help Muay Thai fighter from getting clobbered on their rib with a kick.

Boxing is a very one dimensional art. Muay Thai's punch usually delivered as a straight punch, few Muay Thai fighter use uppercut as their uppercut usually delivered using their elbow.

Interesting point, any Art without grappling defense is moot inside MMA cage/ring we all know that, but Muay Thai is a much better art in MMA rules. Muay Thai clinch and knees have devastating KO power.

Now, in a real No Rule situation, Muay Thai fighter that manage to stop a shot with a sprawl could basically dispose of his opponent with a nicely placed elbow to the back of the head or knees to the head.
