Does music affect your workout?

i have been boxing for a few months now, every now and then i see a few people come in and shadowbox and jump rope with headphones. I was wondering if it really does affect your workout

  1. call it g*y but listen to jazz ballads while working the bag it really heightens your focus plus it keeps you paced . Dont knock what you havent tried
