Does my 2003 Hyundai Accent need a transmission teardown?

So my 2003 Hyundai Accent had a check engine light and the code came up as cylinder misfire via jiffy-lube. Has new spark plugs so I replaced the wires and light went off, for a day. When light came on again I took it to a repair shop and it was diagnosed as code p0713, replace oil temperature sensor, an I was recommend to a transmission specialist. When I took it to Aamco to have the sensor changed and my now due transmission service they found metal shavings and wanted to take apart the transmission to see what component was coming apart. Then I took it back to the dealer since it is still under warranty and they said everything was fine, light was only from misfire. Car has 91,000+, idles rough and hesitated when switching low gears especially when first started and the transmission last serviced at 60,000. Who should I believe?

  1. You say its under warranty, but you took it to Amoco... sounds like the biggest problem is you. If the transmission is not slipping I'd not worry about it or at least keep driving until I knew I had a problem.

  2. I would get that motor running good first if it's not running right it will not be shifting right if it is under warranty why are you going to ammco for a sensor and why are you going to jiffy lube for anything. You need to find a shop you trust and just go there. I would belive that there is no concern with the trans just with the engine
