  2. Up to 6 months the average weight is 1 pound per month old. Quit feeding him that junk and give him a good cat food like Wellness Kitten. The stuff you're feeding is like tossing him a Little Debbie cake. After 6 months, the growth varies.  I rescued 2 kittens the same age and size but from different litters last year. The female weighs 7 pounds now and the male weighs 14. He has a good bit of Maine Coon in his lineage so he'll get bigger still. If your's is of similar ancestry, he could just be a big cat.  Get with your vet for a good diet plan.

Here's a great article on how to choose a good food for your kitten.

  3. Mine's about the same age, AND weighs about the same amount!

It's possible that he's older than you think too, depending on where you go it. Plus, like human babies, some just grow faster.

If you're worried, cut out some of the wet food. Dry food has everything a cat needs :)

  4. I am not sure that he's overweight. You should try not to feed him as much though, to prevent him from getting overweight when he is older. The same thing happened to my cats. Also make sure you play with him a lot so he gets exercise, and fun
