Does my best friend need help?

She told me last night that every night, the last thing she thinks about is death, and how death is inevitable. She said that this has been happening for a while. What should I tell her to make her feel better, and should I tell someone like her parents?

  1. Boy, this is kind of a tough one because your not sure if it means she's thinking about suicide or if she'd just thinking about death. Most people are afraid of death. I can remember thinking about it a lot myself. Wondering where do I go after death? When I die will I be just dead or will I go to heaven etc. People have a lot of questions when it comes to their own deaths and their afraid of when that time comes. I would ask your best friend how's she's feeling about death. Is she thinking about her own death in the wrong way? Is she going to hurt herself? Has she been depressed lately? What has happened in her life these days.....a lot of stress etc?  Obviously you love your friend and want her to be safe. I would suggest going to her parents about it so that you can ease your mind and go on from there. Because if something were to happen to your friend it would devastate you and you may feel responsible and guilty about it. Listen to your heart. Follow it. Her talk  about death may just be talking/thinking about death. But you don't know for sure. Good Luck!!!  Your friend sure has a loving and concerned friend. She's lucky.

  2. Tell her to stop trying to act like she's emo (I bet she's not.) Say that you enjoy life and will not perish under her faux-emo ways!

  3. she needs help

and there is probably nothing you can say to make her feel better

tell her parents and tell them to get her help because she is having these thoughts and tell them to not tell them it was you who told them

later when she gets better you can tell her it was you
