  1. If the food is too rich, then yes, she could have gas.

I was feeding my cat Whiskas.  It's one of the most popular brands of cat food but it's not the best food to feed your cats.  I didn't know this at the time though.  Her tummy get being bloated, she had very soft, smelly poo and she kept farting (and looking at me like it was me who had let one rip!)

I changed the food I was giving her to a premium brand.  Yes, you pay more for it but it lasts longer as it doesn't have the fillers cheaper food has.  It also makes them eat less as it keeps them fuller for longer - and sweeter smelling as she won't f**t!  I went from using Whiskas to Purina Pro Plan for sensitive stomachs then onto Hills Science.  If your kitty has a delicate tummy, it will pay to invest in better quality food - the money you save on buying a gas mask can go towards it!  :o)

  2. Yes, she can have gas just like humans do.  It has to do with what she's eating.  Just like certain foods give us gas, same thing for your cat.  You could try switching food, but sometimes that's hard on them.  She could get used to this food and stop passing gas so much.  I have a hairless 3 year old cat and when she passes gas you can definetely hear it cause there's no fur to muffle the sound.  First time she did it I couldn't believe it!
