  1. You're the one with the masters in veterinary medicine!  Shouldn't you know this?  I guess you know more about horses than EVERYONE but not much about cats huh?

How do YOU like getting sarcastic answers when asking for help?

Maybe if you weren't so condescending to people, you wouldn't get so many thumbs down and have ZERO best answers!

Yes, your cat may have worms--just worm him--you should do this regularly anyway!  But ideally you should take him to a REAL vet to make sure there isn't some other health issue.  Even better-- find the person in the cat section who says "I know more about cats than you"

  2. You can take a p**p sample in a zip lock baggie to your vets and they'll check it for worms.  Most are able to be found that way.

Better would be to take the cat in to the vets for a checkup.  Severe weight loss can mean a thyroid problem getting severe, diabetic conditions starting up, or a few other things.  Especially if the weight came off suddenly. That's a big danger sign.

  3. Exactly where is it that you studied for your degree in "veterinary work"?  I'm not familiar with that degree, but I am a bit surprised that you can't diagnose worms in your own cat.  Perhaps you should take the cat to a real vet.

  4. when a cat has worms there stomach will get big and hard almost like they look full from food but there not at all. Most likley your cat does not have worms since she is so skinny. If your cat is getting older they tend to not gain wait but lose weight more thats an old age then. But if your cat is still younger you should bring her to a vet to have her checked out it could be her thyroid or other serious issues. good luck.

  5. Hmm....I thought you had just got a veterinary degree?!!?

Yes, your cat does sound like it has worms! Why don't you have it on a routine de-worming programme?

    ADD: Lol@ Blueeyes67 - Sorry but I can't resist this....

My source: Simple, I know MORE about cats than EVERY ONE of you
