My cat has had a little raggy toy since she was a baby. At night when we go to bed she gets it and and carries it into our bedroom whilst meowing. she then walks all round the house meowing whilst having it in her mouth.

Does she think this toy is her baby?

  1. My cat has a 'security blanket' too, it's a shred from a blanket that my dog ripped up. He to only really plays with it when we go to bed, probably becuase he knows he won't get any attention when we're in bed. She probably does it to try and stave you off going to bed and to play with her instead!

  2. It has your scent on it and hers so there for it is her security blanket to comfort her when you are not there. My cat don't do that! You are lucky! lol

  3. OMG! That is the cutiest thing i have ever heard ! my 9 month kitten loves my hair scrunchies & he sleeps with them and carries them every where !   they have their special toy!  It is so cute!  Please add a print of your adorable baby!  thanks!  right now my Gizmo is playing with his binky!!!!   lol.

  4. No.She wants you to play with her.

  5. Your cat enjoy playing games with you.

    :)

    Thanks

  6. Yes she is using the toy as her baby, also is security for her because it has you smell on it.

My cat Kittie Katt has a pony tail holder and a ring from a gallon milk jug. Cats are funny but sooocute.

  7. My MaineCoon did the same thing.  She received a stuffed mouse as a Christmas gift when she was 6 months old.  She carried and cared for that mouse everyday throughout her whole life.  She died when she was nineteen years old and the mouse went with her for cremation.  There are all kinds of explanations as to why they do this but I don't know if anyone really knows why.  I tend to agree that it is like us needing a security blanket or having a favourite teddy bear.  The difference is, we are told it is not socially acceptable after a certain age, but cats don't have those silly social rules.

  8. Well it is her security blanket. Just like little kids and blankets, your cat has the toy to make her feel safe. Enjoy it. I wish my animals did that!
