  1. I travelled to France last summer with my 2 year old and 4 year old.  There are people visiting France from all over the world who have different vaccination requirements than the US.  Although France's medical system is great, I would never have taken my children there without being properly vaccinated due to illnesses that they could contract from the numerous amount of tourists.

  3. There are no specific vaccinations for France, so if your children are primary school age and had all their innoculations before they started school they will be fine. Check with your GP surgery if you're not sure what they have had. Just make sure you take stuff for bites and stings as well as painkillers. That's what I would normally do. Bon voyage!

  4. They wont ask for proof, if that's what you're asking. You wont need any medical forms to enter the country.

By all means, make sure your children up-to-date anyway and bring their medical records (or a summary) with you for good measure.

The vaccines here are different than elsewhere, especially the U.S. For example, Chicken Pox (Varicella) is not routinely given or required and this disease does do the rounds here. Make sure your children have either had it or have been vaxed against it.

BCG or Tuberculosis is no longer required here in France since it's effectiveness is in question.

Otherwise, France poses no special health risks for travel.

  5. THEY SHOULD BE UP TO DATE ANYWAYS...SMH

  6. Absolutely!!! Anytime you travel overseas there is a list of vaccines EVERYONE should get. Ask your doctor.

  7. yes, they have mosquitoes the size of cars, and foxes with rabies. There was an outbreak of plague and leper not so long ago...

  8. You should keep your children updated - even if they are not traveling.

  9. There are no special requirements for France
